Steve Taplin had the unique opportunity to attend the invitation only, Innovation & Technology Town Hall event in Phoenix, AZ. The guest speakers for this event were Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, US Senator John McCain, and The President & CEO of GE, Jeffery Immelt. This event had less than 200 people and gave the attendees the opportunity to be up and personal with 3 great business and political leaders.
AZ Governor Doug Ducey talked about how he has used his private sector business skills to help advance Arizona policies and regulations to be more “Entrepreneur Friendly” and attract more jobs to AZ. Ducey talked about the recent $2 Billion investment Apple has made in Arizona as well as the recently announced trial of Google’s self driving cars in Arizona.
US Senator John McCain talked about the importance of Entrepreneurs in the US and how the Federal tax code needs to be revamped to make it easier, simple, and benefit entrepreneurs and small businesses.
GE President & CEO Jeffery Immelt discussed how large corporations need entrepreneurs and small business and how impressed he is with how Ducey and McCain have positioned Arizona to be one of the great entrepreneurial states over the next decade.
I was honored to attend this great networking and informative event. Remember……your “net worth” is only as good as your “network!”
