Industry Executive offers free tips to help entrepreneurs with the Ins and Outs of Startup Funding for Businesses
Scottsdale, Arizona April 20, 2016 – Experienced C-Level Executive and successful Entrepreneur Steve Taplin announces his guidance for Entrepreneurs. “We are happy to provide guidance and tips for entrepreneurs to increase their chances of success,” said Steve Taplin. Most people have no idea how a company goes from an idea in an entrepreneur’s head into a growing and profitable company.
“As a serial entrepreneur, I have been through this process many, many times,” says Steve Taplin. I have had some great wins……and some that didn’t work out. The key to being a successful entrepreneur is to NEVER give up! Mr. Taplin made a comment that being a successful entrepreneur is like the song by the band Chumbawamba that has the lyrics:
“I get knocked down
But I get up again
You’re never gonna keep me down.”
Steve Taplin goes on to explain that unfortunately you typically learn more from your “losses” than you do from your “wins.” The key is to NEVER give up and ALWAYS learn! “Maybe I am sick in the head…..but I LOVE IT”, says Taplin. Taplin teaches business people, executives, and entrepreneurs how to turn an idea, into a business plan. The infographic below shows an easy to understand summary on how a company gets started, funded and through the growth process.
It is important for entrepreneurs to know how to approach an accomplished Executive or Business leader for help or to pitch your ideas / businesses.
Taplin explains that he has entrepreneurs asking him for help all of the time. “I have been fortunate to have some great mentors throughout my career and I truly enjoy helping and mentoring others,” says Taplin. However, most busy Executives and Entrepreneurs have limited time and it’s important to know how to ask for help.
As a striving entrepreneur, you need to learn how to approach a mentor, investor, or someone that you believe can help you in the appropriate manner. Here are some key steps:
Step 1: Have your elevator pitch down. You get 20-30 seconds to pitch your idea and catch someone’s attention. You need to explain why your idea is unique, what your differentiator is, and how it will make money.
Step 2: Have your business plan ready. There is nothing worse than impressing someone with Step 1 – your “elevator pitch” and having them ask to see your business plan…….and you don’t have one. Busy executives and entrepreneurs get pitched hundreds of ideas all the time. If you are lucky enough to get their attention, be ready with your business plan!
Remember…..you typically only get ONE shot to impress someone and see if I they are willing to put their time into mentoring, coaching, or partnering with you. If you are an entrepreneur and have never watched the ABC hit show “SHARK TANK”………start watching it! That is how it works!
